OUGD603 - Extended Practice: D&AD John Lewis (Personalised Packaging Article Research)

Sharp Iris presented personalised packaging powered by Smartflow at Packaging Innovations held at NEC, Birmingham. The Sharp Iris team entered the Lion’s Lair, a competition judged by key industry figures;Neil Richards, Senior Development Manager, at The Body Shop, Steve Jackson, Packaging Development Manager, at Morrison Supermarkets and Lindsey Murray, Senior Packaging Technologist, at Thorntons.
Smartflow is a system designed and built by the Sharp Iris team. Powered digitally from design through to print, Smartflow enables brands and retailers to connect directly with consumers using digitally printed, personalised packaging. Smartflow collates, controls and manages data and imagery, producing printable artwork which can be fed directly to a digital press.
Ecommerce fits perfectly with Smartflow, which can enable consumers to order a product, personalise the packaging and receive it in the post, direct to their door. The communication loop can then be completed by consumers feeding back to brands and retailers via social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
